Saturday Day 1 ATHENS
Arrival in Athens. Meeting service and transfer to the DIVANI PALACE ACROPOLIS HOTEL for 2 nights. Enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional Greek taverna in the Plaka, the old part of Athens. (D)
Sunday Day 2 ATHENS
Following breakfast a half day sightseeing will take you to see the reminders of the cities long and glorious past. Here you will see graceful Greek temples, Roman arches and ornate Byzantine churches. Visit the immortal Acropolis, the highlight of the city in its strategic position overlooking the city. Comprised of numerous structures, the Acropolis attracts visitors from around the world. See the Parthenon said to be the most perfectly pro-portioned building of all time. Next is the two level Erectheum completed in 406 B.C. with the Porch of the Maidens. Nearby is the Temple of Nike Apertos and the Wingless Victory. Below the Acropolis lies the Ancient Agora, the marketplace of ancient Athens and the Theater of Dionysos dating from the 4th century B.C. and Odeon of Herodus Atticus, a still functioning theater from the Roman Period. The balance of the afternoon is free. Perhaps to visit Syntagma Square with the Changing of the Guard at the Parliament, the Olympic Stadium, the site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, the National Archaeological Museum with its priceless collection of artifacts from all over Greece or the Plaka with its trendy little boutiques and restaurants. Monday Day 3 ATHENS/DELPHI/KALAMBAKA
Leaving Athens we travel to Delphi located 100 miles northwest of Athens located in the lee of windswept Mount Parnassus where the famous Oracle of Delphi once foretold the destiny of men. The most important and famous source of sacred wisdom in the ancient world. On the way to the Temple of Apollo, the focal point of the sanctuary ruins, you will see the Sacred Way following the same path as it did many years ago. Pass the Stadium where cheering fans one gathered. Nearby is the Castilian Fountain where pilgrims cleansed themselves in preparation for consulting the Oracle. Pause at the Archaeological Museum of Delphi which contains an impressive collection of finds from the site including the famous bronze statue of the Charioteer of Delphi. Leaving Delphi travel to Kalambaka within close proximity to the monasteries of Meteora. Overnight at the DIVANI METEORA HOTEL. (B/D)
Tuesday Day 4 KALAMBAKA/OHRID
After breakfast admire the fantastic landscapes of Meteora known as "the rocks that fell from the sky". Devout Christians once flocked here to take refuge on the summits of pinnacles. Over the years, the religious monks established a powerful community of 13 large and 20 small monasteries and hermit's cells. Today only four are still active. **Visitors to the Monasteries should be dressed modestly. Pants for men, skirts for women. Visits should cover their shoulders. Photography and filming inside the monasteries are forbidden. The most important one of the group of monasteries is Megalo Meteoro with its tall and intricate dome with twelve sides and exquisite frescoes. Continue across the border into Macedonia and on to Ohrid, a repository of ancient ruins from Macedonia's earlier kingdoms for overnight at the METROPOL HOTEL. (B/D)
Wednesday Day 5 OHRID/TIRANA
The lakeside resort of Ohrid is an important cultural and spiritual centre and is classified a UNESCO World Heritage site. A morning sightseeing tour begins with a walk through the cobblestoned streets of the old town and includes the entrance to the Cathedral of St. Sofia which contains some magnificent frescoes from the 10th century. In the early afternoon we head towards Tirana, the capital of Albania arriving at the SHERATON TIRANA HOTEL 2 nights. (B/D)
Thursday Day 6 TIRANA
A morning sightseeing tour includes the Sheshi Skenderbej (Skanderbeg Square). Next is the Palace of Culture built with Soviet assistance. See the mosaic on the façade of the National History Museum which represents the flow of Albanian history. The Puppet Theater has a surprising past - before World War II, it housed King Zog's Parliament. Other significant buildings include the imposing red brick National Bank, the Ethem Bey Mosque built in 1789 which has been preserved and the Skanerbeg StaTuesday The balance of the afternoon is free for further visits. Friday Day 7 TIRANA/DUBROVNIK
After breakfast drive towards the town of Shkodra, one of the oldest cities in Albania near Shkodra Lake. Shkodra was the center of the Illyrian tribe Labeat and was taken by the Romans in the year 168 B.C. Today, Shkodra is a major cultural center. Stop for a short sightseeing tour that features the Rozafa Castle magnificently situated on a rocky outcrop of limestone high above the city and offers a spectacular view taking its name from a version of the woman built into the castle wall. See the Mesi Bridge and the Leaden Mosque before crossing the border into Montenegro driving via the coastal city of Bar located on the Adriatic Sea. Pass the 2500 year old plus city of Budva and Herceg Novi, one of the youngest towns on the Adriatic Coast originally called St. Stefan en route to Dubrovnik arriving at the ARGOSY HOTEL/TIRENA HOTEL 3 nights. Saturday Day 8 DUBROVNIK
Where the beautiful Dalmatians meet the Adriatic. Entering the gates of this beautiful mediaeval walled city dating back over a thousand years is like stepping back in time. Your morning walking tour of "Old Dubrovnik" will take you to see the Rector's Palace with its priceless artifacts, the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando's Column built by Antonio Ragustino in 1418 and Sponza Palace with its elegantly sculpted Renaissance loggia on the ground floor. Also see the Dominican Monastery dating from 1315 and the Franciscan Monastery dating from 1317 housing one of the world's oldest pharmacies. The balance of the day is at leisure. Perhaps to visit the Cathedral and Treasury where you will find paintings by Italian and Dalmatian artists from the 16th - 18th centuries. (B)
Sunday Day 09 DUBROVNIK
The day is yours for relaxation or further sightseeing. Perhaps to explore the various old gates in the city or to spend some time at the Museum of Dubrovnik. (B)
Monday Day 10 DUBROVNIK/SPLIT
Leaving Dubrovnik travel north along the spectacular Adriatic Coast past old fishing villages and new resorts en route to Split, the largest town on the Dalmatian Coast. Enjoy a city tour featuring the historic inner city built around Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. See the remnants of Split's Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter's Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. Overnight at the PRESIDENT HOTEL. (B/D)
Tuesday Day 11 SPLIT/TROGIR/
ZADAR /PLITVICE LAKES
After breakfast head north along the coast to Trogir, the center of artistic activities where scholars from around the world gather to study and paint. Your journey continues as we turn inland towards the beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park. Upon arrival have your camera ready. Take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. Wednesday Day 12 PLITVICE LAKES/OPATIJA/POSTOJNA/BLED Returning to the coast we come to the beautiful Bay of Kvarner and its popular resort, Opatija located at the foot of Mount Ucka. It's streets still maintain a 19th century air. Heading north we come to Postojna, home of the largest cave in Europe to tour this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Here in the towering chambers of limestone, the dripping water has formed mysterious shapes in stalactites and stalagmites. Afterwards our journey continues to the mountain resort of Bled sitting in a valley surrounded by the snow-capped Julian Alps. HOTEL PARK or GOLF HOTEL 2 nights. (B/D)
Thursday Day 13 BLED
A morning sightseeing tour of this lake resort will feature Bled Castle situated on a cliff high above the lake offering a magnificent view. The balance of the day is free. Perhaps to visit the old church on a small island in the middle of the lake or to take a ride around the lake in a traditional Fijaker. (B)
Friday Day 14 BLED/LJUBLJANA/Z AGREB
Start your day with a visit to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia where you will see the open air market, the City Hall, Robba's Fountain, the Three Bridges and the Parliament. Then it's on to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. REGENT ESPLANADE HOTEL 2 nights. (B/D)
Saturday Day 15 ZAGREB
This morning enjoy a city tour featuring the historic Upper Town, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, the Parliament and the Government Palace. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore the winding streets of the Old Town or to take an optional excursion with dinner into the surrounding countryside. (B)
Sunday Day 16 ZAGREB
After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure. (B) Additional nights in Athens at the beginning of the tour or in Zagreb at the end of the tour can be provided.

ATHENS – The Divani Palace Acropolis is situated in the shadows of the Acropolis a few steps away from the lively Plaka. With all of the amenities of a modern hotel and a breathtaking background, the hotel offers 250 luxury rooms all with private balcony from which you can behold the magnificent surroundings. All rooms are equipped with minibar, safety deposit box, hairdryer, satellite and pay television. The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, two restaurants and two bars.
KALAMBAKA – The Divani Meteora Hotel is surrounded by the towering rocks known as Meteora. The hotel offers 165 deluxe rooms decorated with the subtle fabrics of designer Andre Warwick. All rooms are equipped with the last in modern amenities including air conditioning, pay and satellite television, minibar and direct dial phone as well as having a balcony. The hotels facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, spa with indoor pool, sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi and fitness center. The hotel offers gourmet meals at its main restaurant as well as two bars.
OHRID – The Metropol Hotel is located in the southern tip of Macedonia on the shores of one of the most phenomenal natural beauties – Lake Ohrid. The hotel features 110 rooms fully equipped with cable television, air conditioning, telephone and minibar.
TIRANA – The Sheraton Tirana Hotel is the only 5 star hotel in Albania. Located within a shopping and entertainment complex in the heart of the city, the hotel features 151 guest rooms with hairdryer, air conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite television, coffee maker, minibar and electronic in room safe. There is also massage treatments, live entertainment, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna and shopping mall within the complex.
DUBROVNIK – The 4 star Argosy Hotel surrounded by a beautiful park features 308 guestrooms all equipped with private bath/WC, direct dial telephone, satellite television, air conditioning and minibar. Guests can enjoy the large outdoor swimming pool with terrace and poolside bar.
The 4 star Tirena Hotel is located in a park and offers 208 air conditioned guestrooms equipped with satellite television, direct dial phone and bathrooms with hairdryers. The hotels facilities also include a central 400 square meter swimming pool surrounded by terraces.
SPLIT – The President Hotel located at the foothills of the famous Marjan Hill offers 63 rooms furnished with period furniture. All rooms are air conditioned with direct dial phone, minibar, safe, jacuzzi and satellite television. There is also 24 hour room service.
PLITVICE - The Hotel Jezero provides 229 comfortably furnished guest rooms equipped with private bath, hairdryer, heating, satellite television, direct dial phone and minibar. There are two restaurants serving local foods of the region, an aperitif bar and a dancing bar. The hotel also has a nightclub, swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, Turkish bath and pool. The hotel is located in the midst of the beautiful Plitvice National Park surrounded by lush forests and tranquil waters.
BLED – The Park Hotel is close to the shore of Lake Bled and boasts a wonderful view of the lake, the castle and the Julian Alps. There is a large indoor pool with heated thermal water, a whirlpool, saunas, a solarium, gymnasium and a massage parlor. The hotel offers an a la carte restaurant and pizzeria and is renowned for its original Bled cream cakes that have been baked here since 1953.
The Golf Hotel is situated in a park right in the center of Bled with a beautiful view of the Julian Alps, only a short walk from the lake. There is an outdoor and indoor swimming pool with thermal water. All guest rooms are equipped with shower or bath, hairdryer, balcony, cable television, direct dial telephone and minibar.
ZAGREB – Dating back to 1925, the Regent Esplanade is one of the most famous and elegant buildings in Zagreb. The hotel offers 145 spacious and lavishly furnished superior rooms. The health club offers various treatments, saunas and a well equipped fitness room.

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT
A deposit in the amount of $600.00 Cdn. per person together with the single supplement and insurance premium (if needed) is required at the time of booking. Written confirmation will be issued only after the deposit has been received. Should this deposit not reach us within 10 days of the booking, we will assume that you no longer wish to travel and will release any arrangements being held. The balance of payment is due 9 weeks prior to departure. Reservation received within 9 weeks prior to departure must be accompanied by full payment. Failure to comply with these provisions could result in cancellation of the reservation by Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. without notice.
CANCELLATION CONDITIONS
All cancellations, changes or refund requests must be received in writing at the offices of Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. and shall be considered in effect as of the date received. Cancellation or changes made up to 90 days prior to departure will be subject to a penalty of $300.00 Cdn. per person. Those made between 89 and 60 days prior to departure will be subject to a penalty of $425.00 Cdn. per person.
Between 59 and 30 days prior to departure, a penalty of 50% per person. Between 29 days and departure day, no refunds will be granted thereafter. Should a participant be unable to join the tour on the day of departure or leave the tour prior to its completion, no refunds will be granted for unused services. For those participants making their own connecting flights to coincide with the program, we suggest that ample time be allowed between flights. Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. does not accept any responsibility for additional charges or expenses that result from a change of flight times or misconnections and no refunds will be issued for services not provided. No claim or refund will be considered unless submitted in writing and received by CTA within 30 days of the termination of the tour. Any substitution of a passenger(s) will be considered a cancellation of the original reservation and the applicable cancellation charges will apply. If you cancel your trip after receiving final documents, please note that the complete set of final documents must be returned to Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. before we can process your request.
CANCELLATION BY CANADIAN TRAVEL ABROAD LTD.
We reserve the right to cancel a departure and offer an alternative departure should there be an insufficient number of participants to make the tour viable. Should the participant(s) elect not to travel on an alternative date, a full refund will be made.
Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. is not to be held responsible for any other individual arrangements affected by our tour cancellation.
ACCOMMODATION
Rooms with private facilities in selected hotels as indicated in the itinerary are assigned by local agencies. Should it become necessary, accommodation in similar categories may be substituted.
CHANGES
Once a booking has been confirmed, should a participant wish to change to an alternative departure or make changes to the reservation, a handling fee of $125.00 Cdn. per person would apply.
NOTE: Changes or adjustments to a reservation will not be accepted within 28 days prior to departure. Should cancellation by one or more passengers change the room requirements of the remaining participant, the passenger must pay the applicable rate for the accommodation to be required.
INSURANCE
Comprehensive trip cancellation insurance (to protect against loss of monies incurred through cancellation due to illness, etc.) as well as personal travel insurance for baggage and accident coverage is available through Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. and must be taken out at the time of booking with the premium and remitted with the deposit. Once paid, the premium is non refundable. A signed waiver will be required if insurance is declined.
BAGGAGE INSURANCE
Care will be taken to protect your baggage, however, Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. cannot be held responsible for damage to the baggage. It is recommended that each participant purchase baggage insurance to protect their belongings.
NOTE – Porterage at the hotels and on transfers is limited to one piece per person.
INSURANCE WAIVER
Insurance affords protection against penalties caused by cancellation of your trip due to injury, illness or death of a tour participant or a member of a participant’s immediate family. This insurance is underwritten by RBC.
COSTS
All costs quoted herein in Canadian dollars are per person and are based on tariffs, exchange rates and airfares in effect as of December 08, 2008 and are subject to change without prior notice.
INDIVIDUAL ARRANGEMENTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH A TOUR
For individual arrangements in conjunction with a tour, a non refundable booking fee of $50.00 Cdn. per person will apply.
GRATUITIES
While gratuities for services provided are customary including the end of tour gratuity for the tour escort and driver, the gratuities are not included in the cost of the tour and are based upon your satisfaction of the arrangements provided.
HOLIDAYS CHANGES
During national or local holidays abroad, certain facilities such as museums and sightseeing tours may be limited. Where possible, slight itinerary adjustments may be made.
ITINERARY CHANGES
Your itinerary has been planned with the utmost care to ensure a pleasant trip. However, circumstances may arise whereby a slight change in the itinerary may be required due to business hours at a certain site. There will be no refund granted for any changes to the program.
MEALS
As specified in the itinerary. B= Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner. Meals are provided from a group menu with beverages being included when part of the group meals. Any additional beverages or refills may be purchased at additional cost.
BEVERAGES
Not included with specified dinners.
PHYSICAL DISABILITIES
Any physical disability requiring special attention or treatment must be reported when reservations are made. Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd./and or their agents reserve the right to accept or retain any participant who may, in their sole judgement, require care and attention beyond that which can be provided. Please bring any health or mobility issues to our attention at the time of booking.
PORTERAGE
Each participant will be responsible for carrying their own luggage through customs. Since porters and/or luggage carts are not always readily available, you should be comfortable carrying your own luggage.

Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd would be happy to assist should you wish to add additional arrangements to your tour program.
REFUNDS
There will not be any refunds granted on any unused portion of the tour not taken.
SIGHTSEEING
As indicated, including entrance fees to places of interest as well as the services of fully qualified local English speaking guides. The sequence of tours and the cities visited is subject to change where necessary.
SINGLE ROOMS
A limited number of single rooms may be available for an additional charge. In Europe, single rooms are generally much smaller than a double room. Single rooms are never guaranteed and are subject to availability.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
Must be placed in sufficient time and although Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. will do their utmost to accommodate these special requests, we cannot be held responsible if such requests are not fulfilled.

TAXES
All local taxes and standard service charges on accommodation and meals included in you’re your price.
TOUR DOCUMENT DELIVERY
Travel documents are usually issued within 21 days prior to departure provided that full payment has been received. In the event that late payment results in the late delivery of documents, Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. will not accept any responsibility for the consequences thereof and reserves the right to charge for courier expenses. Documents will be sent first class mail, however, should you prefer to have your documents sent by overnight courier, you will be advised of the additional charges which must be
included with your final payment.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION
All participants must be in possession of a passport that is valid for a minimum of 6 months after the duration of the tour and should have sufficient blank pages for visas and immigration stamps. Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. cannot be held responsible should you be denied entry to any country due to non compliance of these arrangements. Instructions regarding the securing of visas (where required) will be provided once the tour has been booked and the deposit paid. A copy of your valid passport is required to confirm any air reservations (if required). Due to increased security measures, passport information and emergency contact information is required for all passengers prior to the release of final documents.
VISAS
For participants holding passports other than Canadian, please check with your local travel agent regarding entry requirements for the country visited.
Updated Visa Fees: Russia $75.00 Cdn., Turkish $60.00 U.S. payable in cash on arrival in Turkey.
The above visa fees as charged by the respective consulates and are subject to change without prior notice. Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. will be happy to secure visas for Canadian passport holders for a fee of CA $20.00 per person, per visa to cover handling and courier charges. Prices shown are per person, per visa and are valid at the time of printing and all visa fees are non-refundable.
TRAVELLING ALONE BUT WISHING TO SHARE
Tour participants traveling alone but wishing to share accommodation with a suitable roommate must pay the single supplement until such time as a roommate is found. The single supplement would then be refunded with the final documentation. Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. cannot assume any responsibility should such an arrangement not be available or suitable.
AIRFARES
Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. would be happy to assist with securing airfares in conjunction with the above tour(s).
A Special Reminder: Please be advised that there may be living standards and practices different from Canadian standards with respect to the provision of utilities, services and accommodation. Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. strongly recommends that before travelling overseas you should obtain the latest travel information reports on countries visited from Foreign Affairs Canada or the U.S. State Department.
SPECIAL NOTE: The right is reserved to change or cancel the pre-arranged itineraries including designated hotels if reasons beyond our control arise. Pursuant to the Travel Industry Act Regulations if price changes cause an increase over 7% of the confirmed price (except for government taxes) or there is a change in the standard of accommodation or a delay of over 24 hours in transport arrangements of which we become aware prior to departure, you will be notified and given 48 hours to advise us of your desire to cancel the tour with a full refund. Otherwise, you will be considered to have accepted the change(s).
OPERATORS RESPONSIBILITY
All arrangements for land accommodation, transportation and sightseeing are made by Canadian Travel Abroad Ltd. and/or their appointed representatives, who act only as agents in obtaining transportation, accommodation and other services for the tour members. They shall not be liable or held responsible directly or indirectly for any delay, injury, (including death) loss of damage to any person, company or association providing accommodation, transportation or other services in connection with the tour. The right is reserved to withdraw all or part of the tour should conditions warrant and to make such alterations in the itinerary as may be found desirable for the convenience of the tour members and proper execution of the tour. The right is also reserved to decline to accept or retain any person(s) as member(s) of the tour in which case equitable refund will be made at the discretion of the operators.
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

SIGHTSEEING – Many of the tours available are walking tours. Please ensure that you have comfortable walking shoes.
SPENDING MONEY –Please be sure to allocate funds for special events while you are touring such as optional tours, theater and shopping. We recommend that you secure a small amount of cash in Euros prior to departure from Canada for on the spot expenses when arriving in a new destination.
SMOKING – Smoking is not allowed on the motorcoaches while touring.
