Day 1 Sunday Madrid
Arrive at Madrid airport. Transfer to hotel. Balance of day at leisure. From cobblestoned streets to gleaming skyscrapers, this architecturally eclectic metropolis is home to the Prado Museum, second only to the Louvre in its collection of 12th – 19th century European art.
Day 2 Monday Madrid
Morning city tour of Madrid. A panoramic tour by bus of the most important highlights of Madrid with the impressive buildings around Plaza de Cibeles, Plaza de Colón and Puerta de Alcalá. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3 Tuesday Madrid - Seville
Morning departure for Sevilla. In the afternoon have a panoramic tour of Sevilla to admire the Plaza de España and Plaza de America, with its buildings left from the 1929 Expo, the gardens of Maria Luisa Park and Torre del Oro. A walking tour through the old Jewish Quarter of Santa Cruz, with its characteristic “Patios”, decorated with plants, flowers. Enter the Cathedral , built on the site of the former great Mosque, that incorporates the original minaret La Giralda. Dinner.
Day 4 Wednesday Excursion to Cordoba
Morning departure to Córdoba, the former capital of the Omeya Califat during the Arab Domination. On arrival visit the wonderful Mosque-Cathedral. We will walk in the Jewish Quarter with its colourful patios tastefully decorated with plants, whitewashed walls and wrought iron. Will visit the Synagogue, one of the most significant in Spain. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon return to Sevilla.
Day 5 Thursday Seville - Granada
Depart to Granada for a guided visit of the famous La Alhambra. During Moorish reign this fortress was the summer residence of the Arab royalty. The Alcazaba, with its magnificent Torres Bermejas as main fortress, the Carlos V Palace into which fine arts archeological museums are located, and one of the most important, the Nazari Palace. Enjoy the quietness of the Generalife gardens. Dinner
Day 6 Friday Granada - Valencia
Morning departure for Valencia, the third largest city of Spain. Lunch en route on your own.
There are not many places you can visit on Earth that enable you to imagine that you have been transported to a city of the future or to an alien culture; Valencia is just that sort of place.
Upon arrival will have a panoramic tour of the city and enjoy the beautiful shapes of the buildings at the City of Arts and Sciences. Set along the Turia River to reach the city centre in the old town, it is a magnificent new architecture with designs by worldwide known architect Santiago Calatrava. The visit will end with a walking tour through the historic center with the gothic Carmen Quarter and its monuments such as La Lonja (former silk market), ad the Ceramic Musuem. Dinner
Day 7 Saturday Valencia - Barcelona
On arrival we'll pay a visit to Montjuic, site of the International 1929 exposition and 1992 Olympics, from where there is a magnificent view of Barcelona.
Day 8 Sunday - Barcelona
Morning sightseeing starting with a a walk on the Gothic Quarter, view of the Cathedral Plaza de Sant Jaume, Town Hall and Catalonian Parliament buildings. Continue by bus for 'Gaudi Barcelona' to admire the most important monuments of the famous architect of modernism. Along Paseeig de Gracia we will see the amazing façades of Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Will continue to Park Güell. Finally we will visit the most famous and unfinished masterpiece of Gaudi, La Sagrada Familia.
