Day 1 - Amman

On arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel, where accommodation will be reserved for one night including breakfast. This evening enjoy dinner at your hotel. (D)

 

Day 2 - Amman - Jerash - Ajloun - Dead Sea

 After breakfast, begin your city tour of Amman, visit the Citadel, Amphitheatre, Archeological Museum, King Abdullah Mosque as well as the old & modern part of Amman.  Next travel to Jerash , the most preserved of the Roman civilization, start your  tour from the “South Gate” into the “Oval Plaza”, continue your way down through the “Street of Columns” until you reach the “Arch of Triumph”  built on the honor of Emperor Hadrian in 129 AD. Continue to Ajloun Castle.  The approach road through olive groves and pine forests suddenly reveals the eagle's nest of the Ancient Ajlun Castle overlooking the Jordan valley.   The well-preserved fortress was built in 1184 A.D. by Saladin, a great Muslim Sultan, in order to resist the crusaders.   It was one of many castles and observation towers which allowed a message to be transmitted from Cairo to the Euphrates in only one day.  After your tour continue to the Dead Sea and your hotel  where accommodation will be reserved for two nights including breakfast and dinner daily. Day 3 - Dead Sea   

After breakfast, the entire day is at leisure to relax and enjoy the resort area around the Dead Sea.  You may wish to float on the salted water or perhaps enjoy one of the many spa treatments at your hotel. (B,D)

Day 4 - Deadt Sea - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Kerak - Petra

After breakfast, depart for t Madaba, the city of Mosaics [Medeba in the Bible]. Visit St. George Greek – Orthodox Church which shelters a famous 6th century mosaic map featuring Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Less than 10 km away there is Mt. Nebo, the most reveal site in  Jordan and presumed burial site of the prophet Moses that has drawn many pilgrims each year.  Continue to Kerak Castle, built in 1132 A.D. by Baudouin king of Jerusalem, on a strategic location on the caravan road linking Egypt to Syria, after fifty years of fighting and in spite of the five thousand Christian knights defending it, it fell to Saladin in 1188. The fortress is a maze of galleries, arched chambers and fortified towers overlooking the valley of Wadi Mujib, 500 yards below. After your visit continue to Petra your hotel where accommodation will be reserved for three nights including breakfast daily.  Enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening. (B,D)

Day 5 - Full Day Tour of Red Rose City of Petra

After breakfast, start a full day tour of Petra, where you will explore one of perhaps the most stunning sites in the entire Middle East – the legendary  “Red – Rose” City of Petra carved out of craggy rocks by the Nabateans, an industrious Arab people, who settled in the South more than 2,000 years ago. Fortified behind a narrow, deep Siq [Gorge] that slowly winds through a massive rock wall, the majestic façade of the so-called ‘Treasury’ [Al-Kazneh] rises up with a breath taking view as you emerge into the sunlight. The Monastery [El Deir] and the High Place of the Sacrifice [Al Madbah] are among the myriad archeological wonders to be explored at Petra. After your tour return to the hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 6 - Full Day Tour of Little Petra

After breakfast return to Petra for your second visit.  Today your tour will include the sights of little Petra. After the tour return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 7 - Petra - Wadi Rum - Aqaba

After breakfast, depart to Wadi Rum, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a 2 hour 4x4 Bedouin Jeep tour, of the area know to be ‘vast, echoing and god like’.  See the splendid ‘7 Pillars of Wisdom’ the famous desert mountains so beautifully described by T.S. Lawrence, the legendary Lawrence of Arabia in his book. Continue to Aqaba and check-in to your hotel where accommodation will be reserved for one night including breakfast and dinner. (B,D)

Day 8 - Aqaba - Amman

The morning will be free for you to explore Aqaba or perhaps relax on the beach.  Later this afternoon return to Amman and check-in to your hotel where accommodation will be reserved for one night including breakfast and dinner. (B,D)

Day 9 - Amman

After breakfast, departure transfer to the Queen Alia International Airport in Amman with full assistance. (B)
