Day 1 - Welcome to the capital!

Upon arrival transfer and check in to the 5-star Sofitel Wanda Hotel.

Day 2 - The best of Beijing

Explore the city’s most significant Imperial sites at a leisurely pace, with your own personal car, driver and guide. Your full-day tour includes Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace. Savor Peking Duck at tonight’s special banquet. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Excursion to the Great Wall

Spend another enriching day with your private guide – exploring atop the Great Wall and walking the statue-lined Sacred Way to visit Changling Tomb, the most impressive of the Ming Tombs. (B,L)

Day 4 - Fly to Xian

Transfer to the airport and fly to Xian. You’ll be met and chauffeured to the Shangri-La Golden Flower Hotel. (B)

Day 5 - Xian's Terra Cotta Warriors

Full-day privately guided sightseeing begins with the Terra Cotta Army, China’s greatest archaeological discovery. Then learn about centuries-old healing traditions at the Chinese Herbal Medicine Market and visit the ancient walls of the city. (B,L)

Day 6 - Onward to Shanghai

You’ll be chauffeured to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, transfer by private car to the Hilton Hotel, where an upgraded deluxe room awaits. Your hotel’s privileged city-center location in the historic French Concession makes it easy to step out on your own. This evening, we’ve arranged for you to enjoy dinner and a thrilling acrobatic performance. (B,D)

Day 7 - Full-day private car sightseeing

Your unhurried exploration of the city begins along the elegant waterfront Bund and continues through 21st-century Pudong. Stroll in the ancient Yu Yuan Garden and tour the impressive collection of antiquities at the Shanghai Museum. (B,L)

Day 8 - Farewell to Shanghai!

This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the airport. End of services. (B)
