Small Group Tour Guaranteed Daily Departures Day 1 - Amman - Arrival You are greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. (D) Day 2 - Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Kerak – Petra After breakfast, depart for Petra via King’s way, en route visit the holy city of Madaba, which has some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world. Visit St. George Greek Orthodox Church, where you will see the famous 6th century mosaic map featuring Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Less than 10 km away visit Mt. Nebo, the highest in the Moabit range, which has been a center for pilgrimages since the earliest Christian times and is presumed burial site of Moses. Continue to Kerak Castle, which was built in 1132 a.d. and is the largest Islamic castle in Jordan. It was initially constructed in the Crusader period, on the caravan road linking Egypt to Syria, after 50 years of fighting and with five thousand Christian knights defending it, it fell to Saladin in 1188. The fortress is a maze of galleries, arched chambers and fortified towers overlooking the valley of Wadi Mujib, 500 yards below. After your visit continue to Petra, check in at your hotel of choice for dinner & overnight. (B,D) Day 3 - Full Day Tour of Red Rose City of Petra After breakfast, begin your full day tour of Petra, where visitors will explore perhaps one of the most stunning sites in the entire Middle East – the legendary “Red – Rose” City of Petra carved out of the craggy rocks by the Nabateans, an industrious Arab people, who settled in the South more than 2,000 years ago. Fortified behind a narrow, deep Siq [Gorge] that slowly winds through a massive rock wall, the majestic façade of the ‘Treasury’ [Al-Kazneh] rises up with a breath taking view as you emerge into the sunlight, continue the tour to The Monastery [El Deir] and the High Place of the Sacrifice [Al Madbah] which are among the myriad archeological wonders to be explored at Petra. Dinner & overnight at your hotel in Petra. (B,D) Day 4 - Petra – Wadi Rum- Dead Sea- Amman After breakfast, depart for Wadi Rum, a vast, silent landscape of ancient, pastel-coloured riverbeds, the largest and the most magnificent of Jordan’s deserts. Enjoy a 2 hour 4x4 Bedouin Jeep vehicle ride into the oasis with its awesome moon-like landscape, crisscrossed with countless valleys of stunning beauty. Continue your trip to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea, which is 400 meters below sea level. You will have free time for swimming in the buoyant waters, or to cover yourself in mud, which is said to restore your health and beauty. After your visit continue your drive to Amman. Check in at your hotel for dinner & overnight. (B,D) Day 5 - Amman – City Tour – Jerash – Queen Alia Airport After breakfast, start with a city tour of Amman, visiting the Citadel, Amphitheater, Archeological Museum, King Abdullah Mosque, the old & modern part of Amman, continue to visit the ancient Greco Roman city of Jerash. Enjoy a tour through the colonnaded streets, before transferring to Queen Alia Airport for departure with full assistance. (B) Small Group Tour - 2 - 10 participants
